Since 2008, the Theodor-Heuss Gymnasium (THG) in Nördlingen has been a recognized UNESCO Project School focusing on areas including environmental education and UNESCO World Heritage education. These are important topics that align very well with the goals of the Global Geopark Ries.
The idea of an official cooperation grew during the long-standing collaboration that preceded it and culminated, after a decision by the teachers’ conference, in the official designation of the Nördlingen Gymnasium as a Geopark Ries School.
