Albrecht-Ernst-Gymnasium Oettingen

The cooperation between the UNESCO Global Geopark Ries and the Albrecht-Ernst Gymnasium (A-E-G) Oettingen aims to promote students’ understanding of the formation and development of their unique home region. Those who feel connected to and identify with their homeland are more likely to engage in protecting and preserving the special features of their region. 

Initiated by the UNESCO Global Geopark Ries, the “Geopark Ries Schools” cooperative program offers incentives for schools to engage more intensively with Earth history and sustainability in the spirit of Education for Sustainable Development – preferably with reference to the unique history of their own, very special homeland, the Ries.
