The dialects of Eastern Swabia, Franconia and Bavaria—each with their distinct characteristics and regional variations—are all local to the area of the UNESCO Global Geopark Ries. This linguistic diversity of the regions was captured and made audible as part of the project. The students examined the Ries dialects closely and familiarized themselves with dialect poets; texts were “translated” and original texts were written.
The highlight of the project was the recording of selected and developed texts in the professional sound studio DONAUTON in Forheim.
The individual audio recordings were made available to the respective schools and are partly accessible via the Geopark Ries web app.
