At the first Geopark Ries Kids’ Info-Point, the Geopark Ries mascots “Suevie” and “Riesie” (named for the Ries-typical rock Suevite and the mineral Riesite first discovered in the Ries) explain the formation of the Ries and its history to elementary-school students.
Since the Alemannenschule Kirchheim am Ries was built on a former Alemannic cemetery site, the topic of the Alemanni tribes was addressed and presented for young people alongside the special features of the UNESCO Global Geopark Ries with its meteorite crater. The info panels are installed in the outdoor area of the school.
